COMING THIS FALL:
WHO DA F#@K IS...THE KNEELING BUS?!; REISSUED/REMASTERED
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS

Thekneelingbus.com was excited to
learn today that a rare 2007 release by The Kneeling Bus will
get the reissue treatment come fall.
According Licorice Pizza spokesman,
Allan Levy, the label has given the green-light for JVL Musical
Industries, an indie music label based in Tokyo, to re-release
"Who Da F#@k Is...The Kneeling Bus?!".
"Who Da F#@k Is...The Kneeling
Bus?!" was a limited edition continuous mix CD (30,000 copies
pressed) released only in Japan by JVL, under license through
TKB's label, Licorice Pizza. The album features The Kneeling Bus
singles, "Fairchild Dans L'Monophonique" and "Aftermath,"
as well as two previously unreleased songs, "Heaven's On
Its Way" and "Sugar's Piano Interlude"; sequenced
by DJ Draper Marquez.
The reissue also sees the long awaited
digital release of TKB's third single, "Let Me Beat On It,"
featuring former TKB member, MC Fan.Cee.Pantz.
Todd White, who heads up the U.S.
division of JVL, and served as one of executive producers on the
first edition of "Who Da F#@k Is...The Kneeling Bus?!,"
issued the following statement:
"The JVL family
could not be more thrilled in bringing this piece of music history
to fans of The Kneeling Bus. The demand has been phenomenal. The
first edition of 'Who Da F#@k Is...The Kneeling Bus?!' has long
developed a series of bootlegs and knock-offs following the album's
initial run in 2007, and JVL is eager to deliver fans the real
thing with this, the 2009 deluxe reissue of 'Who Da F#@k Is...The
Kneeling Bus?!'."
In addition to the album's original
tracklist, White promises the deluxe edition of "Who Da F#@k
Is...The Kneeling Bus?!" will be chock full of bonus material,
all digitally remastered.

A BUS BY ANY OTHER NAME...
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Ever wonder how The Kneeling Bus
got their name? Well it's not dissimilar to what
this blogger
thought.
Before becoming The Kneeling Bus,
the band was originally named after this Jeffrey Eugenides novel.
In the band's logo, and in earlier
spellings (including news items posted by Thekneelingbus.com team),
the letters G, U, and S are all in caps. The idea to do that came
from this Paul
Simon classic with a wink and a nod to the song's chorus.

"WE'RE TOO CLEVER TO BE THAT PREDICTABLE": DUIE BYTE BITES BACK AT RUMOURS ABOUT LEAK
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
"I wasn't surprised when I heard
[the song] did [leak].' admits, Duie Byte, co-founder and keyboardist
for The Kneeling Bus. "The files for ["Coco"] traveled
through more computers than the worm virus."
Thekneelingbus.com spoke with DB
from London earlier today regarding numerous posts from bloggers
circulating a rumour that The Kneeling Bus are having second thoughts
about "Coco" being the first single from their forthcoming
album, "ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING BUS," and it was in fact
the band itself responsible for leaking a demo version of the
song to get feedback. A rumour that DB says is, "not true."
"I understand that planting
leaks is common place within the [music] industry for feedback,"
acknowledges DB, "but give us a little credit. It's too predictable
a move. We're too clever to be that predictable. 'Coco' is the
first single, and we don't need anyone to tell us otherwise."
Although he maintains the band's
innocence in leaking "Coco," DB did divulge to Thekneelingbus.com
a time when The Kneeling Bus did try to leak one of their earlier
singles. "A couple of years ago, when 'Aftermath' was coming
out on CD in Europe, we leaked the song through a couple of dance
[music] forums using a link from a Zshare account we made. It
was too time consuming. We had to spend a couple of hours a day
each downloading the track as many times as we could. Truthfully,
we couldn't bring ourselves to believe it, so convincing anyone
about a leak when you yourself know you're full of shit was pretty
impossible. When we decided to come in all big label, sending
emails demanding [forum] moderators to take down the link, some
did it, but one of the moderators told us to do it ourselves since
the email we sent him shared the same IP address with our plant
who registered with the forum. It was pretty funny."
DB also shared with Thekneelingbus.com
the progress of the album ("progressing") and spoke
candidly when asked about the numerous false starts involving
the release dates for "ALL HAIL!" and "Coco,"
and how "setting dates" conflicted with the band's overall
work ethic. "I think we sometimes take it too seriously,"
confesses DB. "You know we set these dates when we half completed
a song. And why not? I mean we're almost done... This is all very
new to us. The whole site and posting shit. We see other people
announcing everything they're doing and we feel like we have some
obligation to say something, otherwise people might think we're
doing nothing. We're very private people in life and that reflects
in how we work. We've come to realize that since working on the
album that we're not very good at deadlines and setting dates...
or explaining ourselves. But, yeah, I know we've said it before,
but until we're done working on the album, will we say anything
about that."
Stay tuned and keep riding.

"COCO" VIDEO: "THE WAIT WILL BE WORTH IT" PROMISES
DIRECTOR
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Since it was announced on 30th April
that the release of The Kneeling Bus' debut single, "Coco,"
was put on hold, Thekneelingbus.com received countless emails
from bUS Rdrs regarding the song's video; which was planned to
premiere on 29th May. "Honestly, [the band and the label
were] waiting up to the last minute to decide on whether to premiere
the video on the 29th," admits the clip's director, R.E.
Spooch. "I was secretly hoping they would do it, but I respect
their decision to put it on hold."
Thekneelingbus.com spoke with Spooch
today by phone telling us that the video was delivered several
weeks prior to the announcement of the single's delay. The director,
however, wasn't surprised when he heard the news saying, "I
kept hearing that the band is still working on the album when
we were [completing the video]. So [the single being put on hold]
seemed pretty inevitable."
Spooch is currently
waiting word on a new premiere date from The Kneeling Bus and
their label, Licorice Pizza, and promises everyone who is anxiously
anticipating the clip's debut that, "the wait will be worth
it."
Stay tuned and keep riding.

"COCO" SINGLE LEAKED
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
A demo version of The Kneeling Bus'
new single "Coco" has been leaking onto the internet through several
P2P and file hosting sites for nearly a month, according to the
band's label, Licorice Pizza.
In an email sent to Thekneelingbus.com
on Tuesday, label spokesman, Allan Levy, writes, "Licorice Pizza
has been working relentlessly in blocking the illegal distribution
of the demo," which began appearing on file hosting sites Rapidshare
and Megaupload in early May. Levy goes on to say that, "these
sites offer free hosting of files with no fee to register. So,
once the track is taken down the user can simply register a new
account and re-upload the demo several hours later." Levy went
on to admit that users have been "masterful" with using codes
within the file name to indicate the song is in fact "Coco" by
The Kneeling Bus (for example; "hotChOCOlate_to_TaKe_Back home.mp3"
in which the caps read COCO TKB), however, he made it clear in
pointing out the leaked track is a "very raw production from an
earlier recording of the song," and the band is "none to happy"
with the news of the demo circulating.
Thekneelingbus.com contacted the band who issued the following statement:
Not to pull a Lars Ulrich,
but we've been putting a lot of work into this album, and paying
out of our own pockets to do it. So, to be honest, a little
payback for the playback would be much appreciated. And besides
anyone who knows us is well aware that we've always been about
the free download...and of the final mix. So we beg upon the
mercy of you good people, if you see it, say it. Drop us a line
and let us know of any suspicious activity.
Much love and respect.
The Bus
(Fred, Duie, Neal and Jeff)
The demo has since found its way
onto P2P networking site GNUnet which allows users anonymity to
distribute and retrieve files of any kind, unlike most file hosting
sites where a users IP address is obtainable.
Neither The Kneeling Bus nor Levy
know who is responsible for the leak.
Stay tuned.

LABEL SPOKESMAN CONFIRMS DELAY OF "COCO" SINGLE
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Following remarks made by DJ Draper
Marquez on Wednesday revealing that the release date for The Kneeling
Bus' new single, "Coco," is being delayed again, the band's label,
Licorice Pizza, today issued to Thekneelingbus.com the following
statement through their spokesman, Allan Levy:
"[The label] last month proposed
to The Kneeling Bus that a release date for ["Coco"] would be
better determined once the album is completed. Following several
weeks of discussion, the band agreed to put the single's release
on hold. Right now, Licorice Pizza is anticipating "Coco"
and [the album] "All Hail! The Kneeling Bus" to be released
sometime in the third or fourth quarter, however no dates are
being placed on anything at this present moment."
Levy added that the label had intended
on making an announcement early next week via joint statement
with The Kneeling Bus, who are currently recording in London.
Licorice Pizza was formed in 2003
by The Kneeling Bus as an outlet for their own material. In 2007,
the band entered into an agreement with Lemon Meringue, an independent
label distributed by The Orchard, to handle all business operations
of Licorice Pizza, including marketing and distribution, on condition
that The Kneeling Bus retains ownership of all their sound recordings.

"DON'T KILL THE MESSENGER": SINGLE DELAYED AGAIN?!
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Thekneelingbus.com spoke with Draper
Marquez earlier today where the DJ and MC, who is a featured vocalist
on The Kneeling Bus’ new single, "Coco," let it slip
that the release date for the track is being pushed back once
again.
Marquez was asked if whether he knows
the maxi-single for "Coco," which includes remixes by
the DJ, will drop around the same time as the standard single;
Marquez replied "probably not for a couple of months,"
adding "not until [the standard single] gets another date
put on it."
Upon realizing what he had said,
Marquez then quipped, "but don’t kill the messenger."
Messages to the band and their label
were not immediately returned.
(Ed. Note: Mr. Marquez was being
interviewed at the time for a story that will be featured on Thekneelingbus.com

been feverishly working on the band's clip since it was announced

Spooch, who also directed The Kneeling
Bus video, "Aftermath," as well as the digital short,

behind the "Coco" video; telling us that the clip "takes
its inspiration from sexploitation and women-revenge flicks from
the 1970's." The director also revealed that DJ Draper, who
is featured on the track, plays a "guy on the prowl"
before he's "blind-sided" by a "beautiful women
who just happens to have a habit of picking off the men she seduces
during very sexually compromising acts."

ALBUM UPDATE:
"WORKING" TRACKLIST REVEALED
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Over the weekend, we here at the
Thekneelingbus.com were delighted to receive word on the progress
of TKB's debut album, "ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING BUS."
The news came to us via email from guitarist and co-founder of
TKB, Righteous Fred, whom, along with the rest of the band, has
been in London for the past several weeks with producer, Dave
Bosch, for "a needed change of scenery." According to
his email, Fred writes that TKB has "maybe a little more
than a month to go on recording," and describes the album
as an "omnibus of musical genres," yet "cohesive"
and "self-referential." Fred was also adamant in declaring
that "no autotune was harmed during the making of 'ALL HAIL!
THE KNEELING BUS,'" thus far.
Release dates for the album and its
first single, "Coco," were not announced, however, Fred
did privy us to song titles from what he refers to as the "working"
tracklist for, "ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING BUS," which is
as follows:
Infidels Of The Krash Pardy/The
Class Of The 21st Century *
Sensitive Skin (I Know What I Like) *
Some Girls *
Coco (featuring DJ Draper)
Light Years *
Another Day On The 109 (featuring DJ Draper)
Willing And Sweet
Nowadays, She…
Passion
Playground
If Only For Tonight, We Could Sleep
Lullaby
Down By The River
All Hail! The Kneeling Bus *
* Indicates track is a working title
or in an early stage of production.
In addition, Fred confirmed that
the singles, "Fairchild Dans L'Monophonique," "L'Enfant,"
"Aftermath," and "Let Me Beat On It" will
not be included on the album, writing that;"after serious
and careful consideration, and with respect to Drape for coming
through for us on the new version of 'Let Me Beat On It,' we decided
as a band to keep [the album] new, and focus solely on the new
stuff."
Since after it was announced last
August on Thekneelingbus.com that TKB enlisted Bosch to work on
"ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING BUS", the band had remained
mum on any developments of the album until now. Fred went on to
write that he's been keeping journals and notes of his experiences
from working on "ALL HAIL!" since January [2008] and
will "most likely make use" of his blog, "What
Fred Said," and post "them there" when he has time.

ALBUM UPDATE:
NEW PRODUCER GETS ON BOARD
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Thekneelingbus.com learned over the
weekend from TKB guitarist and co-founder, Righteous Fred, that
the band has enlisted producer Dave Bosch to work on their forthcoming
album, "ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING BUS." It was announced
on August 5th from Thekneelingbus.com by Fred, via email, that
the release dates for TKB's debut album, "ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING
BUS," and its first single, "Coco," had been pushed
back to dates undetermined citing that, "once
[the band] reached that point where...[they] don't have another
idea [to] work" on, then they will "let it be known!"
A rep for the band's label, Licorice
Pizza, confirmed the addition of Bosch in an email sent to Thekneelingbus.com
on Wednesday morning writing, "it was imperative to green-light
TKB's request to bring Dave on," recalling that, "[the
band] brought [the label] three albums worth of material in late
July. Three distinctly different albums to boot," which is
why Licorice Pizza agreed to hold off on releasing the album and
single on the dates previously confirmed. The label rep went on
to write, "we love everything we've heard from [the band],
so that's not the problem. They just need some discipline and
focus. Hopefully Dave will bring that into the fold."
Dave Bosch is a DJ and producer based
out of London, where as a DJ he has worked the tables at Tiger
Tiger, Vertigo, and The Kitchen in Dublin; the latter club being
owned by supergroup U2. A graduate of Alchemea College of Audio
Engineering in London, Bosch began cutting his teeth in the studio
serving as an assistant engineer for producers Jacques Lu Cont
(aka Stuart Price) and the Berman Brothers, as well as assisting
with recording duties on albums for Depeche Mode, The Cure, U2
and Coldplay.

FIRST SINGLE FROM "ALL HAIL! THE KNEELING BUS" CONFIRMED
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Thekneelingbus.com learned today
from Righteous Fred that TKB has chosen the song, "Coco,"
as the first single from its debut album, "ALL HAIL! THE
KNEELING BUS."
Righteous Fred--who
co-founded TKB
along with band member, Duie Byte--describes "Coco"
as, "Lo-Fi Electronica by way of Bronx, New York, circa 1978."
When Thekneelingbus.com asked why "Coco" was chosen
as the album's first single, Fred had this to say:
"It's
one of the first songs we worked on where everyone had input

aboard DJ Draper who will be replacing TKB's former MC, MC FAN.CEE.PANTZ.
FAN.CEE., who first appeared as a

he would be leaving the band for personal reasons.

PSSST...HEY
YOU, IT'S ME
posted

I know.
You feel neglected. You're saying that we don't talk as much as
we used to. You feel suddenly that those emails we sent throughout
the years telling you everything that we're up to are now not
as pestering compared to a brief missive here and there. I know
that. We know the same people, remember?
Don't
be a fool.
It's
all for a good reason...I promise. And although we don't communicate
like we used to. I still want you to know that I'm here for you.
All
my love,
Freddie

MC
FAN.CEE.PANTZ GETS ON THE BUS
posted
by your friends@the kneelinG bUS
Your
friends@the kneelinG bUS are happy to announce a new addition
to TKB; MC Fan.Cee.Pantz. Fan.Cee. was first introduced on TKB's
third single, "Let Me Beat On It," as a guest artist;
rapping on the track's main mix and freestyling on the provocatively
titled, "MC Fan.Cee.Pantz Beats Off."
According
to guitarist, Righteous Fred, Fan.Cee. has been putting in the
same crazy hours the band has while working on their first album
that it seemed only fitting to "to have [him] join the ride."
Welcome
aboard, Fan.Cee.
